2009 - Year of the Basel ii Professional

People are the Key!
Our society is increasingly being required to be compliant to an array of ever changing Statutory and Regulatory demands. Just as police officers protect our streets and doctors protect us from disease, Compliance professionals are critical in ensuring that Organisations remain complaint of governance rules.
For these reasons, with support from organizations worldwide, Basel Certification Institute has declared 2009 the Year of the Basel 2 Professional (Y-B-2-Pro). Now is the time to recognize and validate the achievements, skills and responsibility of Basel Practitioners worldwide and the vital role they play in our global information society.

Goals of the Year of the Basel Professional

The Y-B-2-Pro initiative aims to:

• Spotlight Basel professionals and attract high-quality candidates to the profession
• Highlight the increasingly significant role Basel professionals play in the global economy
• Encourage organizations to meet the challenges of Basel ii by investing in their Compliance staff.

Y-B-2-Pro Supporters Activities

Year of the Basel II Professional Student Excellence Award
Basel ii Certification Institute and Net-Security Training will collaborate to award the Year of the Basel ii Student Excellence Award. This award will be announced on 30th of January 2009.

2009 Global Basil ii Workforce Study
based on proven practical IT best practices, it is designed to ensure that IT investments provide measurable improvements in mission performance.

This event will focus on based on proven best practices, how Basel ii Training investments should provide measurable improvements through continual certification. And how this certification can be standardise global allowing for varying jurisdiction.

Career Guide - Decoding the Basel II Compliance Profession

With the support of endorsers, we will produced our first-ever nationwide Basel ii career guide for students interested in a career in Compliance. Research show that demand for new professionals will nearly double by 2010, the guide aims to demystify the compliance profession and offer students education and career resources.

Speakers Wanted!

Basel II Certification Institute is looking for constituents interested in speaking on topics related to Y-B-2-Pro throughout the year. Opportunities may include participating in a panel at an event or conference, speaking at a constituent reception or talking with the media. Topics will include issues professionals face as they move through their careers and they've seen the profession and the compliance workforce change.
