Continuing Professional Education (CPE)
At Basel II Institute, we're committed to helping information security
professionals further their education in all Basel related areas of
their profession. Once an individual has successfully passed a Basel
II Institute examination, continuing education is required to ensure
his or her certification is in good standing.
Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Credits
In addition to paying an annual maintenance fee and subscribing to
the Basel II Institute Code of Ethics, a Basel II Institute certificate
holder must earn CPE credits over a three year period - or retake their
certification examinations. CPE credits are earned through activities
related to the information security profession including, but not limited
to, the following:
• Attending educational courses or seminars
• Attending compliance conferences
• Listening to vendor presentations
• Completing university/college courses
• Providing compliance training
• Publishing compliance articles or books
• Serving on industry boards
• Self-study
• Completing compliance work, including serving on Basel II
Institute volunteer committees
